John Taylor, Owner and Operator

John brings 35 years of local experience to the flooring business. John learned about flooring at Parkman Taylor’s then set up and managed Castle Hardware before striking out on his own to initiate Taylor’s Custom Flooring.

 

John understands and meets the need for customer service in all aspects of the flooring business from the initial home visit to installation and after care. Timely quotes, accurate measures, sample drop-offs, furniture movement, door removal, shaving, re-hang and pristine clean-up are all part of the quality service you receive at Taylor’s.

 

In his off hours you may spot John playing country music at a community fundraiser, or being dragged on bike or sled by the dog the local animal shelter “donated” to him for his support.

 

 

 

Elaine Mikolaitis, Store Manager

Elaine has been managing the store, John, Kris, and Al for over 15 years. With 20 years in the fashion décor business she is the perfect person to help you sort through our vast flooring selection. Whether you’re looking for carpet, laminate, vinyl, ceramic, hardwood or remnants, Elaine can help you make an informed choice.

 

Elaine handles ordering and scheduling as well as the day-to-day store management. We’re not sure how, but she also manages to keep her countertop well-stocked with cookies and other tasty tidbits despite her co-workers best efforts to empty the plate!

 

 

 

Kris Anderson, Chief Installer

Kris has an eye for detail that makes him a bit of a perfectionist about his work—and our customers like it that way! If Kris is satisfied with an installation job, we’re confident that you will be too.

 

Extensive product knowledge and awareness of the latest installation techniques inform Kris’s suggestions to improve the installation and give you the floor of your dreams.

 

 

Al Taylor, Fine Carpenter

Al is the Taylor behind the former Parkman Taylor hardware and construction business. If it’s not golfing season, you’ll often find Al in the store or shop working on some aspect of a custom carpentry job—he’s well known for his specialty in circular staircases.

 

Al’s presence is a distinct advantage to our customers who benefit from custom trim molds, stair nosings and reducer molds.
